The Best exercises for tummy are a varied bunch

Depending on who you talk to the best exercises for getting rid of that unwanted tummy may seem either impossible or too simple. We've come a long with since the advent of the simple sit-up, and that simple exercise for tummy is still a very suitable device to help flatten and shape the tummy the way you may want it.

Many fitness experts today agree that the best way to tackle that flabby tummy is by doing stomach exercises that isolate both the upper and the lower abdominals. One popular upper abdominal exercise is the cross-knee crunch. The way to do this is to do a regular crunch, but move your shoulders across toward the opposite knee. For those who don't know how to do a regular crunch, the best way to go about this exercise for the tummy is to lie flat on your back with your legs up in a 45 degree angle. With your hands behind your head, pull up your head with your hands and your shoulders. Your motion should be in the direction of your bent legs, but there is no need to completely move all the way up to the thighs. Just go up about 15 to 20 degrees. Also, the slower you do them the better the workout you'll get. This stomach exercise is also less stressful on the back than a regular sit up.

Perhaps one of the best exercises for tummy is a lower abdominal exercise called the lying leg raise. To do a lying leg raise, a person should lay flat on the ground with their legs straight, then raise their heel off the ground about twelve inches. Hold for a few seconds then return to the original position. Do about ten times. These exercises for tummy will help to both tighten and flatten your stomach.
