It is a difficult question to answer. I would say that if you are a novice to home fitness, then my answer would be no, certainly not at the outset. I would guess that you would like to be fitter, to stay in trim, but that you ideas have not crystallised past that point. If that is the case, then I suggest that you consider some general toning up exercises at home, which require no equipment at all.

Try them out. Educate your body to expect more exercise to come. Then focus your mind on what you REALLY want to achieve through your exercise. Then you will be in a much better position to select the equipment that best meets your home fitness needs.
