Treadmills - Exercise Your Demons!
Treadmills are one of the best forms of home exercise available today. A treadmill is a truly sophisticated piece of equipment, complete with on onboard computer. You can program the machine to do pretty much anything that you want. Treadmills give excellent cardio vascular exercise, but are also first class at delivering strength training, especially for the legs. One could argue of course that one could achieve the same results from stepping out of your front door and running - for free! This is true of course, but, you should ponder this:-
| • | You can remain injury free. Treadmills are much more forgiving than roads. |
| • | You have a rain or shine solution with a treadmill |
Treadmills require an investment of course. But a treadmills' paypack to you and your family will be immense. Some schools of thought believe that the strength training element of a treadmill can be of particular benefit to children who are overweight. Care should be taken with the cardio vascular element, especially with children.
There ar some misconceptions about strength training for children. One is that it can stunt their growth, and the other it should be prohbited in children. I personally hold the view that strength training using natural resistence as in the case of an incline on a treadmill is fine. Weight training (in the traditional sense) as an exercise for the young should be avoided.
Treadmills Remain The Most Popular Form of Home Exercise
Treadmills are used by around 45 million people world wide, either at home, or at a gym. The reason for this is simply that a treadmill is very effective at what it does, namely delivering high quality strength and endurance exercise in a safe environment. The fact that most gyms around the country have a multitude of them available for you to try out gives testimony to this fact. What's more, for increasing numbers of families around the world, the convenience of having your own machine just cannot be beaten.
